The sleek shuttle flew bathed in soft twilight before slipping silently back into constant darkness a mere ten minutes later. Abe had preset the precise navigational computer to return them to the exact coordinates on the lifeline they had visited previously. The master computer had designated the same spot to be the moon's natural equator! This geographical point would be ideal to initiate the establishment of a base-line from which to start their internal explorations.

As the couple felt the shuttle slowing, Abe actuated the forward landing lights to reveal the mighty falls looming before them. The continuous roar of the water grew ever louder as the final distance melted away with their forward progress.

A scant moment before entry, Babe touched Abe's arm, sheepishly reassuring him that she would control her acute anxiety to avoid fainting again. He smiled in understanding as the rushing water swallowed up the insignificant shuttle.

Clearing the falls, the lights betrayed the ghostly presence of a narrow belt of mysterious ground fog shrouding the unfamiliar surface features of the interior terrain. The light beams separated; dancing eerily on the wispy fingers of moisture rising up from the waist-high top of the cloud. Except for the pronounced din of the falls behind them, the scene of their unscheduled arrival was marked with a reverent silence.

Abe unloaded the small craft while mentally respecting Babe's extended engrossment of the relaxing, peaceful mood the pristine setting produced within her feminine being. He could not help marveling at the sexy contours of her magnificent body as he arranged the picnic basket and food in a manner he hoped would be appealing to his beloved mate.

Reaching for Babe's dainty hand, Abe got up to cut the power to the shuttle's landing lights. The only remaining light was the soft, luminous glow of the aura produced upon contact of their genetically matched bodies. It would stay uniquely visible until the first brilliant rays of the forthcoming sunrise bathed the crystal landscape with colorful illumination.

The dense fog was rapidly dissipating when the spectacle began. Along the inside horizon, a broken line of golden rays were pulsing to and fro, filtering through the angular configurations of the crystal ceiling. Many of the crystals acted as prisms, scattering the light into the various bands of the color spectrum. Nature and physics promised to provide a dazzling natural light show, worthy of any eyes fortunate enough to witness it!

Abe and Babe were not to be disappointed with their choice of entertainment. They comfortably stretched out on the soft blanket to afford themselves a better angle of view. Soon, vivid colors invaded the golden shimmer. Small rainbow shafts of light danced ever higher into the faceted canopy. As the sun's rays achieved a more acute angle, some of the colorful hues shimmered and intensified as the bands widened with the extra profusion of new light. Every color imaginable was brilliantly represented, each with a variety of unique geometrical shapes defining their perimeters.

Curiosities aroused, Babe glanced behind them, discovering a fascinating new aspect of the light show besetting them. The massive falls behind them were literally alive with pulsating colors! The excited couple mentally discussed the paramount possibility of whether the hues filtered through the churning water, revealing their brilliance to the external vastness of space. Jointly, they agreed to see for themselves, before the advancing overhead sunlight overpowered the fragile colors.

After hastily packing and loading, Abe activated the shuttle's main drive and carefully backed through the cascading water. The amazing external view confirmed their previous hypothesis. Abe steered the craft sharply skyward to a sufficient altitude, enabling them a dazzling panoramic view of the entire lifeline. From their atmospheric vantage point, the line appeared as a continual rainbow of dancing light, displaying sufficient brilliance to probably be seen with the naked eye even from the orbit of the New Hope!

Babe impressed upon Abe's mind her personal request to bestow the appropriate name of "Rainbow Falls" on the phenomenon below them. He whole-heartedly agreed, adding that he elected to name the moon "Hydrocryst", meaning water and crystal. Thus, it came to pass that their future home would be inside Hydrocryst and Rainbow Falls would be the safety boundary separating the plush interior from the deadly radiation of the desolate exterior.
